The Wild Rose

The Wild Rose

A Poem by Riv

She was just as beautiful
As a rose in the gardens
Red and clear
Yet thorns ran deep

The day he came
Was the day she fell
Once again,
into his arms

The next day bright,
he gifted with a flower
The flower she grew as
A red rose,
red and clear.

The third day,
he ran by the river.
She gazed into his eyes,
and went to look into her reflection.
She didn't see him.

The blow was quick,
and the death was not.
Slipped into the river,
with a single rose.
Between,
her teeth.

Limno, Wow what a stunning write! From word 1 to the richly appointed ending this piece bursts with a raw intensity that seems to sizzle toward the conclusion. I'm actually having trouble finding the right words to do this piece justice so I'll just go with GREAT! This goes into my library favorites now. Thank you for that. take care...dan
