Kings and QueensA Poem by Riv
We told stories of kings and queens,
as if we had an eternity to tell them.
We told stories of kings and queens,
until our vocal chords were numb. All of us were never quiet awake, we walked with sultry tones into the unknown. No matter how many people held us under, it was like another game to be played. The bliss of not understanding, of being cared for.
Suddenly the ground was pulled up, from underneath us. No direction to take, only our mere thoughts at our side. Which path were we supposed to take, how do you breath again? Oh how we wish to gain the crown again, we would never forsake it again.
We would kindle the flame kindly, protect is fiercely.
Oh how we wished, but it is simply that, a wish. We dreamt of knights on white horses,
we dreamt of protecting princesses. But now,
we're left stitching up our circuit boards. © 2015 RivAuthor's Note
