Ritual

Ritual

A Poem by Riv

What do you see
beyond that glass mirror.
is it your soul,
or your body.

Which is more important.
Is there a separate path.
What energy do you give off.
In what sacrificial moon.

You first see your soul,
a connection you cannot deny.
Yet the more and more it goes on,
your body comes into play.

Theres something going on here

"What do you see
beyond that glass mirror." - I got the impression that the mirror was an object of derision or something to be chastised - you know the way some people use our full titles (my siblings did anyway) when we are 'in for it'.
This brings into mind some deep questions about the relationship of the corporeal and the soul - does it reside within us, if so where or is it in escrow in our own individually assigned 'cloud storage locker

I liked this LimnoH'

Not so much darkness. More of the direction of understanding. The good description open the door to thoughts and possibilities. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

We can't deny we have bodies that contain our souls, but we do put too much emphasis on them. We only wish we could just see our souls and so there won't be need to hate our bodies or over-glorify them or be envious of other people's shapes.
