I didn’t want this.

No, I didn’t know I

could want this.

I didn’t know I

Was allowed to look

At her like she

Was my first poem.

I didn’t know I

Was allowed to run

My hands across her

Like she was the

Art they hung up

In museums, which goes

To show I’ve always

Been drawn to things

Society tells you

Not to touch.

This breathes life to the struggles i dealt with, with being the first ever lesbian to come out in my family, shunned by many and never understanding what is so evil about love?
