be a dreamer

be a dreamer

A Poem by Rob

Be a dreamer

Never wake up from your dream to soon

Put your dreams in action before it’s too late

And no one ever knew they existed

Then you’ll spend your whole life being reminiscent

The one guy who thinks he’s a failure and indifferent

All because he woke up from his dream to soon and wouldn’t listen

Now don’t get it twisted

It’s good to have aspirations that are realistic

But when chasing your dreams

Don’t look at the statistics

You’ll feed your mind ideals that

 Your dreams are not logistic,

And that it’s better just to quit

Or what if you wake up from your dream to soon

Waking up early in the morning instead of the afternoon

You didn’t believe the train would ever come

So you didn’t perceive your dream as one

So each day you slowly lose hope bit by bit

You’re like the boy on the polar express

Waiting on the train to come

But the only difference is

You weren’t ready so YOU missed it

To contemplate the possibility

Of doing something or that something

Might be the case

Is what the dictionary states

For the meaning of dream.

But to contemplate is only Part of the first phase.

So maybe we should rephrase

How put actions to the dreams that continue replay

In our mind, so let’s redefine

Being a dreamer

To be a dreamer one must put together a plan

To achieve the ideals that  in the heart were preconceived

Because a heart is the only place a dream can breathe

Never wake up from your dream to soon

Who knows maybe a dream is what put Neil Armstrong on the moon

But if you wake up from your dream to soon, it’s as if the world never knew

No one else can choose your fate

Once you wake up it’s too late

Unlike earthquakes dreams don’t have after shakes

Continue to believe cause chasing your dreams

                Has an expiration date.

So go capture your dreams and seize the moment

Words of failure and doubt can be potent,

But hold in the emotions don’t show it

Just believe and you’ll know it

So extract your dreams from deep inside you

Never quit, or failure will define you

Ride or die with this intent in mind

        And you should be fine

Chase your dreams

As if they were streams

Streams that lead

To the end of the rainbow

When you get there

You’ll realize the streams

You were chasing

Led to a bucket of gold

One can never be too old

To believe

So keep chasing your dream

So say that you are, and do what you mean

Focus and believe

But more importantly just dream

Wow! That really says a lot! Great job! I love how you just put dreaming all into one poem. It flowed so well. I agree. Dreaming can only go so far. If you didn't want your dreams to come true, than why would you even dream them in the first place? Why would you want to let yourself down? Don't just dream, but dream big and achieve it!

Bucket of gold.. End of the rainbow. Did you get stoned and mind merge with a box of lucky charms?
