THE ROAD
By Robert taylor Down this wearisome road It’s their fault, never my own It’s the direction they forced me to go Down this daunting road When will it end? This road I’m on, been on it way too long Life’s unfair; I think we’d all agree upon Makes us mad, but we must move on When we need her the most she’s gone I had no enlightenment of where I’d be A hundred miles down this road of destine Blinded by love and faith it’s led to an empty sea It’s depressing to say the least, It’s not where I wanted to be For I’ve slowly but surely Gone off the road The one my loved ones paved for me Who am I to be naïve? But I wanted draw my own dream Now look, a thousand miles into hell Is what it seems Down this long unpromising road It’s no one’s fault but my own It’s the direction I’ve chosen to go Down this endless road © 2014 Rob |
