My Mask.

My Mask.

A Poem by Lilly Fall
"

Depressive moods always bring out the poet in me.

"

My mask is my best friend,

it keeps me safe and warm.

Nothing can harm me while I'm in it's grasp.

I don't worry others,

so it's a win-win.

Let me be to my peace

of lonliness for eternity.

A heart so scarred it can't breathe

lives here in my chest of stone.

Lonliness for Eternity,

that sounds so sweet.

It's better than where I am now,

and where I ever was.

It's cold in here,

and it's my safe little haven

from all those who have betrayed me

I lay away, forever hiding.

Everyone has a mask which protects us from the nasty things in this world. We feel safe behind it.
Well expressed.
