This is actually about my daughter's father and the way I feel about him now. Never make the mistake of believing you can save a monster. Beauty and the Beast is just a fairytale.

I sit here and I listen to this song that used to belong to us.
 I sit here and I recall how in love we once were..
You were always such a wonderful Illusionist.
 Making me believe the lies and pretty pictures you would paint.
 Of a future of us happy together forever. 
And the flowers you would bring.
 They haunt me, taunting and mocking  me.
 I wonder often if you think of me and if you do does it make you smile.
 The pain that you have caused me must surely be enough to satisfy the beast that lies within.
 The one I saw and thought to befriend.
The memories of me must bring a sweet reverie to you of the blood you have spilled in the name of love.
You hate me now darling but for what I cannot fathom.
 for it is you who twists and burns and torments the heart.
 Like acid dripping from my eyes every time the tears came.
 This ropes have become loose in your absence.
 I am not your little doll any longer.
 I have teeth too darling and they are every bit as sharp and broken as yours.
It disgusts me to see your pretty face.
Such a terribly deceptive mask.
There is no hope for the world.
The true face of evil is beauty but people desire beauty.
They want to hold it, to trap it to own it.
Not nearly as fragile as I once was I can see you for who you really are.
I see the blackness within.
The chips in your teeth the cracked and mangles claws.
I once thought you were a beautiful disaster but time has shown me I was wrong.
There is no beauty left in you.
What once could have been was broken long before you found my crippled soul to torture.
You are nothing more than smoke and mirrors darling leaving nothing but damage and chaos in your wake.
