Pictures on the WallA Poem by MeradeePoemAll the pictures on the wall, They might be empty after all. All the faces looking back, Might as well just show my lack.
I gave up all those faces bright, When I decided to pick this fight. The sad and lonely road I take, Was once a dream, but now I wake.
In the search for serenity, I seem to have lost my identity. The darkened clouds and moonlit path, Seems to console my terrible wrath.
Alone it seems I travel now, Though not for long I vow. I’ll search and fight until it’s done, Until your heart I have won.
We’ve yet to meet ‘cross this lonely road, And my footsteps they have slowed. Till the day we grandly meet, I’ll stand here on solid feet.
Together we’ll travel away from here, No longer on the bottom tier. Life and love will treat us fair, And together we will not scare.
I’ll look for you with the sun’s great rise, Till the day I look in your eyes. We’ll hold hands for two, And remain ever true.
Then we’ll see the lonely travel, Was really worth all that gravel. Then we’ll enter, truly sure, And we’ll know we found the cure.
And the mem’ries of our life before, Can show us how we learned to soar. Together we conquer great and small, And we’ll be here, standing tall. © 2012 Meradee |
