GenesisA Chapter by MeradeeMeet Caer Kavanagh-a brilliant woman with a flair for fashion design who's about to get herself into trouble very quickly.Children are a constant source of wonder and surprise. They can seem so simple and innocent, yet still know far more than we realize. They amaze us with their ability to understand and comprehend things that we as adults cannot even fathom. We forget those days of dream filled fantasy because we believe we are better than whims of fancy. No more dolls and sneaking into mother's closet to try on her high heels and dresses when she's not watching. No more imaginary friends with whom to converse and know that they will forever be there for you, even when your real friends have left. No more hide and seek, kissing tag, or dodge ball, after all it's not appropriate. We're all adults now, we don't have frivilous needs and blunt natures. Instead we veil ourselves in a shroud of mystery, suspicion, and lies. No more imaginary friends, becuase we've got friends with imaginary standards. No more toys, because we can use real people for temporary enjoyment. No more hide and seek because we hide from the law. No more kissing tag, because we have one night stands, no more dodge ball, because we have bullets. No more child's play, because we're playing with the big boys now. © 2010 Meradee |
