Sunglasses

Sunglasses

A Poem by Meradee

We look at the world,

through different colored lenses.

We wonder how someone,

Could think like they do,

While they wonder,

The very same thing.

Sometimes we may,

Need to take off our sunglasses,

And put another's on,

And maybe we'll be able,

To see things from another perspective.

Maybe then,

We'll be able to stop,

Some of the horrible things,

Happening in our world.

All we have to do,

Is trade lenses.

Cleverly written! Love the last two lines, too! I really like how simply put this poem is - yet it addresses such a gigantic problem in this world. People hating people because of their differences, unwilling to accept each other as individuals. Different doesn't mean wrong - just different and even colorful.

In just a short poem, you've addressed such a big issue. Well done!

"All we have to do,
Is trade lenses."

I love this! Having a look at the world through another persons eyes. Brilliant.
