![]() Will someone give me my closure?A Poem by Lillian BurrowsI often look up at the sky, Spinning, staring, aching, pining, For a change, for something new, I’m stagnant and it almost like I’m dying
When I see the world around me, Walking, breathing, laughing, vibing, A black, gaping hole in my chest Is opened, forever expanding Everyday I sit with others, Talking, hearing, learning, burning But I’m still hopeless and alone, Always waiting for the love I’m yearning For beginnings and ends, I’m always, Waking, sleeping, living, dying, It’s all I know, it’s all I do, But should I really give up trying?
For something else to take over? Wishing on four-leaf clovers? For my hurt to spill over? Will I know when I’m older? Will someone give me my closure? © 2025 Lillian BurrowsAuthor's Note
