ReanimationA Poem by Ceri Sian LockBased on something that really happened to me. I'll leave it to you to decide whether it was a metaphorical or literal event...Shocked. Ten thousand volts to the heart, Pounding, Head pulsing, Exterior torn apart. Lightening bolts Straight through eyes. Illuminating, Apertures on every side. Hard to breathe. Ask 'Why?' 'What?' 'How?' Sudden Flash forward To here. Now. Emerge from immersion, Rush of air, Life giving assertion. Inhaling calm. Ideas circling. Skin tingling, Sparkling. Young world Surfacing. Faces glow, Spirits float, Rivers flow. A sweet pill Handed over By the flourescent soul. Brighter colour, Louder sound, Constant up, Not coming down. That brilliant flash Cleared haze, Space created. A lifeless face Re-drawn, Animated. Eyes open wide To the being inside, Uncovered, Free, Nothing to hide. Limits cut. Through realms and layers soared. Self Restored. © 2012 Ceri Sian LockReviews
