God's Screenplay

God's Screenplay

A Poem by LilithDianaClio
"

This was inspired by 'The Conqueror Worm' by Edgar Allen Poe and by Macbeth's "Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow" speech in Shakespeare's Macbeth

"

Some say life is a play

Yet I have to say, that life is a player

   a prop

   an addition

to a screenplay of another’s ambition

and if this screenplay is as you say; he created a demented play

us the puppets

he the master

playing our part, then descending into dark

trying to be the lead, yet never paying heed

that we shall all fall

the dramatic and tragic call, of the Angel of Death and eternal unrest.

And whom is the audience, of everlasting scorn

delighting in our blood

joyful in our pain.

Treating us a peices in a game, those divine symbols of the pure,

to laugh and guide us to hell’s door.

And be rest assured, there is no escape,

be content with your fate.

No intermission, nor late admission

your end unnoticed

             unheeded

             unheard

A prop locked in a wooden box

gathering mold

growing old

This descent into dust, is a must

your conclusion...an illusion

a tantalizing award, for a new acting boy.

Alas!

You’ve waited too late!

So succumb to your fate

forever upon the stage

for all days
