No more perfume on youA Poem by Enigma
I open my eyes, disturbed by sunlight
I blink few times, recalling events of last night I run my hand through my hair, I look to my side You're laying there, like an angel, like a diamond sparkling with flakes of daylight A cold breeze made my eyes shut I opened them but it is too late I'm alone despite your figure by my side I touch your face, it's warmth I couldn't find Angelic features don't translate gestures, Soft traits might trick. I was happy to dance the night away with you but now the memories taste bitter 'cause there's no more perfume on you. The smell of coffee was intoxicating bringing me from dreams to reality I hug your waist, I'm thirsty for love, every morning is a new beginning We call it a day while we make the frosting of our delicious stories. I stand alone, hungry, can't find any muffins All I see is your broken guitar and the song we were supposed to make You hold me from behind Your arms are so light You're doing your job, just being kind. I close my eyes wondering who are you Oh baby! I forgot, there's no more perfume on you. The beautiful sun of some April days Touches my skin, caresses my face A clone selling balloons, selling smiles he says My hands in my pockets, I found a dice He took it from me, gave me a life in exchange And you passed by, holding hands With your new Beau, I just watched Do you dance or bake cakes? Do you travel when the days end? Do you you still a rose or he buys you new perfumes? You smiled to me, you were my muse To be played again I totally refuse. I gave you my balloon, it's the end You will know what to do 'Cause for me, there's no more perfume on you.
