A new crush

This is a haiku poem about romance. It is not about love, just a crush.

My heart beats faster,

And my cheeks burn a bright red,

I have a new crush.

I have always found highly structured things like haikus challenging (but that might also be due to the fact that 'syllables' are never a concept I fully managed to grasp. It's not that hard but I still only have a 50/50 shot of getting it right if someone asks me how many syllables are in a word), but you made it seem almost effortless and easy with this write.
I also enjoyed the designation of 'this is just a crush, not love'. That's usually something that takes people far longer to learn the difference between. They're both very strong feelings and can easily be confused for one another, but they are definitely different.
