The pretender, the light and the heavens.A Poem by Lilibeth A.KThis is a poem about many things. It is a poem of God's kindness. A poem of temptation. A description of heaven, in poetic form, of course. And it is also a poem of my faith- Christianity.
I look to my left,
I see an Angel, I look to my right, And I'm startled by fright, There is no devil, No trace of his existence, I look to my left again, She is showing resistance. "If you tell me his whereabouts, I'll pay you 1,000 yen", But Angel said "Why the hell would I do that?! If you round that up, it is only $10", I was startled by this, That word is not in my Angel's vocab, Then I remembered those words, Those words in the Bible, 'Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to those who will inherit salvation?', Surely a ministering spirit wouldn't use such language, It is surely hypocrisy! "You pretender! You are not Angel!", And assuredly I am correct, Angel has been slain, Slain by my foolish acts, Acts led by temptation, And so, his true form is revealed. I erupt in flames, My soul screaming inside, I bow my head and look to Him to confide. "Holy, holy, holy Lord God of hosts." "I give my heart to You! Save me! Save me! I will sin no more!", I scream through the pain, The fire is extinguished by the Living Water, My soul is at peace, I open my eyes, Look up to the skies, I see Jesus sitting at the right hand of God, Behind him is a big house, One open to all, And the light, Oh, the light! His light astounds the very core of my being, And I know that I am in heaven, And heaven I will be, For the rest of eternity.
