The land I once knew...A Story by Lilibeth A.KA story about a girl using her compulsory English class speech to spread awareness of the many issues in today's world.
"The landscape before my eyes is beautiful. Birds singing in perfect harmony, the breeze fresh and gentle, the grass a clean, lean and mean green. The sun a Gem shining upon all beneath it, a blue sky ridden of any clouds. It truly is a sight to behold. But then, a roar. Not of an animal, but of a mechanical beast. A loud thud of a tree collapsing backward is only the start. BANG! BANG! BANG! The song comes to a stop. Death. Not only of these beautiful creatures we should protect and respect, but of the beautiful land that is no more." Angelie pauses for dramatic effect, then states: "This situation is one of many. A drop of water among an ocean of issues. Deforestation, poverty, and so many more. Our world is facing so many issues, and not just environmentally. But economically, and socially too. There is no replacement for a human life, there is no Earth 2.0. So, what is the solution? We come together. God said in the book of Genesis that we, humans, are protectors of all living things. A creation of God, who should then protect and help another creation of God. Come together. Make a difference. Take a stand." Angelie ended her speech with a bow.
