The pond

The pond

A Poem by Lila_Halliwell

Rise and shine it’s fishing time

Sunrise calls the worms to hide

Cattails tower sleepy eyes

Caught in breezes by surprise.

Rhythms gurgle tiny hops

Drift to where the ripples stop

Moments hold fluttered wings

Clips of time meant to dream.

Dew drenched spiders float and slide

Fearless turtles seek and hide

Wading in, sloppy muck

Rollie pullies bring good luck.

Cast the last bait and wait,

                          And wait and wait,

                                                       and wait…

And wait.

I find this writing compelling, well thought out as it places the reader in that location sharing the events of nature. Nicely done.

Thank you:)
I love your rhyming and the way you put it together. All creatures in and around the pond in the pecking order. you capture nature in a delightful way.
