Chapter 19 (Conclusion to Part 3)A Chapter by CreepingDeathChapter 19 Hunter and Draven were nearing the city of Morris. They could both smell the rotting flesh of the kindred. This would be the safest place from Battery, for kindred were not to be taken lightly. They were savage when it came to battle, they would rip their limbs off, crack their bones, and tear at their flesh to use as weapons. They both stopped at the entrance of the city. It seemed like an entirely different place from where they stood. The ground was stained red, and the sky was full of black clouds. “This place is horrid.” Hunter said aloud. He knew this place well, but ever since his humanity began to return to him, he felt different emotions. He knew now that Morris was a horrible place, full of decay and evil. Hunter and Draven would have to stay in the outskirts of the city if they wanted to survive. For if they entered Morris, they wouldn’t live for more than a week, but if they were to go anywhere else, they would surely be hunted down by Battery and killed. So, they would stay close to the city. Close enough that Battery wouldn’t attack, but far enough to not be noticed by the Kindred. “You stay here, I’ll head out and get supplies. I’ll be back in an hour.” Hunter explained. Draven nodded, keeping silent. He was imagining all of the cruel ways he could murder Battery with. He knew that if he didn’t act fast, Aza would forever be scarred by Battery’s mind control. Draven hated Battery, but this. This had crossed the line. Battery was now taunting him. He wanted Draven to attack. And Draven would do exactly that. I’m not staying, I’m going after Battery. He thought to himself. Draven got up from the place he sat and began to run away. He would go after Battery, save Aza, and kill him. It would take him 2 days to reach Battery’s kingdom of Wildehollow. Wildehollow used to be a nice, northern kingdom ruled by a nice man named Walter Bhasphemo. He made sure everyone in the kingdom had received food, water, and shelter. He was the nicest man on the planet. Battery just so happened to live in the kingdom. He hated how kind everyone was. He thought they were weak, that they deserved to die. When he was 16 years old he had heard of a special potion you could drink that would give you unimaginable power. He saved up money for the potion, and once he consumed it and received his power, he knew he would use it to take over. And that’s exactly what he did. He destroyed Wildehollow, and killed most occupants, only using his body manipulation on those who seemed strong. Draven knew that if he were to make it to Wildehollow, then he would have to fight his way to Battery. He was fully prepared for the battle, in fact he embraced it. In those 2 days, he would train as hard as he could. He would master all weapons at his disposal. He would kill Battery. He knew he would. It could be no one else but him. He would save the world. He’d be the hero. He would marry a fine woman, have children, and train them to be fierce warriors just like him. Then, the name Oflugur would become the most powerful family on the planet. He would live the rest of his life without worry. But before he could do that, he had to kill Battery. His main obstacle to happiness. His main obstacle to fulfilling his life dream. Battery. Battery sat atop his throne. Aza was once again standing on his left, but Orion was nowhere to be seen. The doors to the throne room swung open as a soldier came storming in. “Sir, Sir! We’ve just received news that the army sent to Sanitarium has been defeated! Orion has been killed!” they exclaimed. Suddenly. The soldier standing in front of the two began to gag. They choked on what seems like nothing, and in no time at all, had died. Battery slammed a fist into his throne. “Damn those b******s! Who could possibly best Orion! WHO!?” he shouted. Aza looked over. “Perhaps it is the wolfslayer, your highness.” she said. Battery looked over at her. His eyes widened. He began to calm down, looking up at the ceiling. “If that wolfslayer is still alive, and had defeated Orion, than that means he has become a true wolfslayer. If he comes here, I might actually have to put up a fight.” Battery explained aloud. Aza nodded. “Of course, you would win against him your highness.” she said. “Well, it seems I will wait for this army to come to me. There’s no need to attack them at their home.” he said. Both Aza and Battery sat in silence for a while, before Battery chimed up. “Aza, dear, could you come here for a moment?” he asked. She nodded. “Of course, your highness, what do you need of me?” she began to walk close to Battery. Once they were face to face, Battery quickly stood from his throne. He met Aza’s lips, kissing her. It was long, passionate, and sinister. Battery backed away from her, ending it. “Oh dear, who could’ve thought I would share a kiss with Battery.” Aza said. She began to blush. Battery sat back in his throne. “Times are tough Aza, but you and I, we’ll make it through this.” Battery explained. Aza nodded. “Of course, your highness, I’d do anything for you, even give up my life.” she said. They both had returned to silence afterwards. Battery began to worry about Polaris. Was he really that strong now? That he could defeat Orion, his second in command? Whatever had killed Orion, Battery knew they were headed for him next. His army was weakened. All he had now were common foot soldiers. Battery sighed. The battle was not over yet. Not yet. Polaris stared at the body of the fallen opponent. Mary looked up at Polaris in disbelief. That monster had nearly killed all three of them in a single blow, and Polaris was able to beat them in a one on one battle, without even breaking a sweat. “Holy s**t, Polaris, you did it! You saved us! Thank you, thank you!” Mary exclaimed. Polaris glared at Mary, giving her an angry gaze. Mary gulped. Polaris began to walk away. “Wait, where are you going?” she asked. Polaris did not respond. He knew that if he stayed, he would put their lives in danger. He would leave by himself, leaving David there at Sanitarium. “Call off the army. You’re not going to fight Battery.” he said. Mary began to stand up. “Polaris, please! Don’t get the wrong idea! We do care about you!” Mary explained. Polaris was shocked. How did Mary know that? “That’s why you have a ring on your finger, right? That’s why you’re married? That’s why you didn’t go looking for me all those years ago? You are no longer trusted Mary!” Polaris shouted. Mary recoiled. He was right. Mary had lied to him. She began to tear up. “Mary… I hate you.” Polaris said. Mary’s heart froze. She began to cry aloud. Polaris continued walking. He would attack Battery now. It would take him three days to reach Wildehollow. Just three days and Battery would have his head cut off. Polaris returned his sword to his back. He felt no emotion. No more would he care about anything. He would kill Battery for his own gain. Once he did kill Battery, he would take his place as the most powerful person on the planet. He would rule what Battery ruled. He would not need an army to conquer kingdoms. All he needed was his strength. Mary’s cries were fading out. They became quieter and quieter. Polaris wouldn’t return. He wouldn’t return to anyone in his past life. Not Aza, not Draven, not anybody. He would learn to appreciate the fact that he felt no emotion. He would use it to his advantage against his opponents. He’d be unstoppable.
