Chapter 5 (Part 2)A Chapter by CreepingDeathChapter 5 There isn’t the slightest chance in the world that Cliff is dead. I need to return to Yveskin. I need to see for myself. I know what I must do. I’ll just sneak out while they are sleeping, run to Yveskin, and then I confirm if he is dead or not. I just need to be quiet and patient. “Sleep tight Drae-Drae.” Aza said to Draven before going to her bedroom. “What did I say about that ridiculous nickname you gave me?” Draven recoiled. Now’s my time. I’ll leave now. Draven heard a bang downstairs which awoke him. What was that? he thought to himself. He went to investigate. He made a small dagger just in case it was an assassin. He was surprised to find two obscurities. For one, the door had been swung open, and two, Polaris was no longer sleeping on the couch. I wasn’t expecting the door to be locked up so much. And needing a key to exit from the inside to open it is just ludacris. Whatever is after that Scrambler kid, I want no part of it. I’m close to Baile nan Gaisgeach, from there all I have to do is follow the pathway east and I’ll be there in no time. Though, I wonder if Scrambler or Aza are looking for me. I wonder if they know where I’m going. Whatever the matter is, I’ll only return if Cliff is truly dead. Whatever the case is, I could care less about that maniac. Though, I hope I don’t worry Aza that much. I’d feel awful. Draven was worried as to where Polaris went. He knew that if Aza woke she wouldn’t care in the slightest, But Draven did care. What if he was a spy? What if he used the fight between me and Lucretia to get into my house, learn a secret of mine or something. What could he have learned that was, not only important, but something worthy of telling Battery. That’s it! He thought to himself. The door locks! Draven had suddenly realised that the locks on the inside and outside of the door had been slashed apart. That is what the noise was. That’s what woke him up. I have to go after him, if he reaches Battery with info on my lock setup, then his assassins could easily break in. Draven thought to himself. Draven was just about to leave when he heard someone behind him. “Where do you think you’re going?” A voice from behind him came. He spun around to see Aza standing at the foot of the stairs. “I’m afraid Polaris left to do something.” Draven responded. He didn’t want to worry Aza anymore than she already was. “And you’re going after him?” she asked. Draven was now trying to come up with a good excuse. She was still carrying her attitude from the argument earlier. “He stole the loosels I earned on the quest.” Draven replied. He thought she’d allow him to go. The bandages and healing ointments she gave him did cost money, and without it, poor little Drae-Drae could get hurt. He started out the door when she responded to his excuse. “So why is your money more important than your injuries? You can’t go on any quests with bandages swung around you like that.” Aza responded. S**t. She was right. The earlier Draven healed, the earlier he could do more quests. It was only 80,000 loosels anyways. He could easily make it up in a day. Looks like Draven would have to wait to see if Polaris were to return or not. © 2019 CreepingDeath |
