The PearlA Poem by Quaint Lil Lady
Weathered, battered
Brushed away by currents Chosen, mauled at Thrown away by parents Dropped, snatched Almost eaten by the albatross Thrown, tossed Left aside by the others Falls, buries Itself away Sunlight no longer The moon asunder The sand washes away The days fly yonder It's shell is cracked By a journeying wanderer And there inside Through turmoil Resides It's smooth, white treasure Opalescent, iridescent It shines through Forgetting it's hardships For it's magnificent hue. © 2020 Quaint Lil LadyFeatured Review
