Being Free...

Being Free...

A Poem by Lil Guppy

"Be proper",they tell me.
"Behave yourself", they tell me.
"You're a disappointment", they tell me.

I try my best to stand strong.
I never know what I have done wrong.
When I have time to spare I wonder...
What would it be like to be free?
To be free would be like dancing in the sun.
To be free would be like having fun.
I wouldn't have to worry if I disappointed anybody,
because I would be free.

That's when they found out...
There was no laughing.
There was no playing.
There was only me.

It was I who ruined there lives.
It was I who didn't survive.

That night I began to wonder...
What would it be like to be free?
And I soon found out.
I ended the pain for them and myself,
because I wanted to be free.

Lil Guppy
Today is the Day of Silence. I wrote this poem based on what I would think people would feel if they were tormented and judged.

Wonderful imagery. You captured the essence of how one feels when they are unjustly judged. That desire for freedom is something a lot people relate too, good job!

Thanks! I was aiming for that. ^_^
It was a great poem of imagery. The poem is great and well written. Emotions good and well expressed. The poem is also packed with thoughts that is bottled in and now freely released. (:
Good poem and keep writing~
