Why?

Why?

A Poem by Lightfalls
"

Sometimes meaning isn't in the answers we get, but in the questions we ask

"

Why do people have to die?

Why is their death? Why is there life?

What really matters?

These questions overwhelm and threaten to destroy.

Why am I running in circles, Pursuing things that don’t matter?

Arranging deckchairs on the Titanic, while hopelessly forever sinking.

People, coming and going. Crossing paths. Fading in, fading out. Like stars in the sky, or ships in the night. A transient life in a temporary world. Nothing stays the same. Chasing lies by day, and escaping fears by night.

Some take roads in hopes of freedom. Some find paths through their desperation.

But no one can see,

That these roads are all going the same direction.

They all lead to the same place.

Though I'm heartbroken and so lost.  You're still there, always there, no matter where I am.  You never left.

I can't see you through the dark, but I'll still love you, forever.

And through this night, and through the tears,

I can feel you through this storm.

I hear your promises echo in my heart.

And I know there is hope.

It colors my darkness with beauty, and streams into my life like the sun.

Though sadness is here now, happiness will return.

Though I am alone, love still exists.

And though death's shadow blocks the sun,

I can still thank God for life.

Though time is a cruel force that steals everything, leaving you broken and destroyed,

I will trust the one outside of time, and live forever in eternity's sunrise.

Though I loose the ones I love; I will love there ones I have.

Though I loose hope for the day, I won't loose hope in eternity.

 “Why....why.…”

Though the questions come,

Though I cry out desperately for understanding....

Maybe I don't need answers...

Maybe all I need is a real, never ending hope.

Maybe all I need is you.

This poem makes you think about your life. Nice poem, keep it up!

Yes! A never ending supply of hope! I couldn't agree more. This was wonderful! Not only did the pictures help let the mind go free out of itself for a bit, but the words being spaced out like that gave the reader time to think and ponder each bit in sections.

A very good poem to let one's mind loose on and just think about.

I'm not about being tied down and limited with words. Words are just a shadow of life anyways, and only used because they simplify things. Sometimes there are things far, far beyond words, that you .. more..
