Hope in Darkness

"When it is dark enough, you can see the stars."

It is still there.    

 

The light of hope shines, even though I cannot see it.    

 

I need to remind myself of this truth. There are better days to come. Today is a better day then so many other ones I have been though.  My life has made me who I am.  It will continue to make me into what I need to be.    

The night will turn to day.  

The clouds will leave, I know. The shadows....they are only seen when there is a light shining from somewhere.    

The brightest light is seen at the darkest hour. The inner conflict will leave someday. My inner demons that claw and pull at the center of my being will at long last know final defeat.    

The power of truth and love are the only things that can destroy them, and one day they will. The sword will slash through the darkness and drive the vast hopeless army out of my life.    

 

I will not give up. Until the day that my soul is freed from the stone castle, and my life can rest in the arms of love, I will be strong and endure.    

 

They future is full of doubts. Doubts in life, in beauty, in purpose.

The clouds seem to loom ever higher in front of me, and at times I cannot see.    

 

There is hope in the darkest sky though.  

 

There is a glimpse of light in the distance, I can sense it, and feel it, even though it seems faint.          

 

 

There is hope, even when it cannot be seen.

You know, this poem is something I really needed to read. Sometimes it is difficult to see the light in the midst of darkness.
