Take me home

Take me home

A Poem by Light

Time has made it all so prim,

The hopes had yesterday are all so dim.

I long for your affection again, mom.

So many are your wishes,

And I could fulfil none.

Standing here, beneath the night sky,

I am not her anymore.

The one I left behind:

She is dead so long before.

And here is me,

Not an outcast as you all sees

But a diverted mind in a diverted soul;

Waiting to be set free.

The city lights are absorbing me.

Not a light of hope do I see.

Not an emotion do I feel;

Or a wretch now possesses me?

It’s getting dark

And I have lost my way.

Ransacked in this colorful town,

though I’m all grey.

The world is only a beautiful lie, mom.

Take me back to my sweet home.
