Mark 5
    "You're not doing it right."
    "I'm trying my best!"
"If you say best, you start limiting yourself."
    "Huh?"
"You always gotta do better than best so you can constantly surpass yourself."
    "You don't make sense Teacher."
    "Oi, wake up."
    "Ah?"
"Was the speech really that boring for you?"
There were 4 blocks, each containing 4 teams. We were in the B Block. Team Firecracker was in the C block.
"Ah, well I was thinking of something."
"Well they didn't announce the rules yet so it's fine isn't it?"
    "I'm gonna take a walk."
"Doing as you please again, b*****d? Well be back quick."
I went off into the hallway. I saw a vending machine and decided to get a snack.
"Guess I'll go for a lollipop."
I felt a chill. I looked around to find nothing there. All of a sudden, bloodlust. There was so much pressure it felt like it was crushing me.
"If you're gonna struggle like that..."
"He'll be no problem for us."
    "Huh?"
I turned around. I saw two very similar looking beastkin. They both had greenish hair and were of the Wolfkin. They must have been twins.
    "This is our first opponent?"
    "He won't be much."
"Is that so? Well my other teammates should be included into this equation shouldn't they?"
    "We won't lose."
It looks like the first round will be interesting. I have to teach those kids a lesson.
    "You went to get sweets?"
"Don't worry, I got you all something."
"Thanks I guess. Wait. You know I hate vanilla!"
    "Thank you for the chocolate."
    "I love chips, sir!"
"So, what are the games to be played?"
    "B Block, Scavenger Thief."
SCAVENGER THIEF
Each team is given 2 special items.
The objective of the game is to steal the other teams' items.
Each team must protect their items from other teams.
Whenever a member of a team encounters another they MUST fight.
Teams are allowed to use the items they receive.

"We already got a good thief."
    "Eheh~"
    "Don't get cocky you two."
"I think we should check out the competition."
    "Good idea."
We searched separately. Me and Ashleen looked around the C Block, while Vlay and Gamma searched the D Block. Ashleen waved to Team Firecracker and they smiled at us. I spotted a team that might be a threat to them. Team Gala had 7 members, making them the largest team in the tournament. They had 4 mages, 2 archers, and a swordsman who was clearly the leader.
"Ah. This might be a problem for them."
As if reading my expression, Kaen gave me a look that said "It's no problem".
"What game did C Block have?"
"I think it was, Crimson Cannon."
CRIMSON CANNON
Each team has 4 cannon balls.
The objective is to find a Cannon to fire them into the air.
Every time a cannon is fired with a team's ball they gain a point.
However there are some fake Cannons that will explode when used.
Cannons can only fire once for each team.
Cannons can be destroyed by teams.

"Basically, find the right cannons to use and once used, destroy. It's also possible to determine which is fake if you look closely enough. At least with a person that has a Scan ability.
"I wonder what Vlay and Gamma are finding."

It was not looking good in D Block. I could spot two teams that prove trouble to the others in terms of power. If they were to win and meet us in the games we'd prove a disadvantage. Team Cerberus uses a variety of restraining skills and poisons. Since our only long distance attacker is Cilufer we have no way of fighting if we're all restrained.
"Those weapons they use are pretty nasty."
"Yeah. If we were to go against them we'd lose."
    "Are you sure?"
    "Yes."

We met up at my home. I cooked us a meal while Vlay discussed our plans.
"We may have to add another member to the team."
    "What do you mean?"
"There's a team in D Block capable of restraining all Close Combat classes."
"So if we don't find another ranged fighter it'll just be me against them."
"Can we add another member though, sir?"
"There are no rules against adding someone to the party during the tournament."
    "Ah, I see."
    "One day left."
Vlay sent the party invitation. We were hoping we would get a reply soon. We had no idea an old friend would appear.

"No way. Vlay and Cilufer sent this? I haven't seen them since the academy. If they're looking for help then it's time I repay my debt to you two."
