Nothing rhymes anymore

Nothing rhymes anymore

A Poem by Light
"

A poem from a lost person

"

The poems I write about you will never rhyme,

because I need to say exactly what I feel like

and my emotions can’t be contained

within the barriers that rhyming creates

I thought, maybe if I write a poem,

a piece of this pain will be thrown out of the window

Maybe it will crumble, the guilt

you make me stupid enough to believe that could work

I think you might know it

That’s why you steer away from me

Avoid me like a boat does the cliffs

not caring if someone sits there, alone

not caring if a friend needs rescuing,

nearing the beauty of the lighthouse

because the reward isn’t worth the risk

of losing the one you actually love

I don’t have reasons to loathe you

but I wish I did

If I can’t hate you,

I’ll miss you

And who am I to miss you?

I’m only a dead silverfish

This poem is so relatable. My poems do not rhyme for the same exact reason. For this poem, it doesn't matter that it doesn't rhyme because it still flows well. The reader can also feel the guilt and pain behind the words. You're not alone in your feeling of guilt and hurt. I've been in a similar situation. It takes time, but things will get better! Don't stay discouraged:)
