Broken Promises

Broken Promises

A Poem by LightForMyShadow

Promises were broken fast.

Expected years were meant to last.

You let me down and now I wonder.

You kept me here left to ponder.

Was everything just my fault?

It was my world that came to halt.

I understand lifes not fair.

But you don't help me, you just stare.

You watch me as I start to crash.

Enjoying my pain like your swimming in cash.

Take, take, take is all you do.

If I could I would sue.

I drown in the bottles that remain.

Let me rise above your tangled chains.

You walked away like the reckless mother at a park.

Maybe one day you will understand this hurtful mark.

A very expressive write here.
This is like a rant. I enjoyed this.
You have wonderful rhyme scheme as well.
