I'll Be On My Way

I'll Be On My Way

A Poem by Lighthouse Call
"

A simple acoustic song..

"
Well I see the bigger picture
The fog has cleared up now
I guess I've never been enough
And I'll never know how
'Cause you've seen me at my best
And you've seen me acting s**t
But it doesn't matter now
And that's hard to admit
So, so long
I'll be on my way
If our roads shall cross
I might even hesitate
'Cause I was drowning in the water
But I guess I've learnt to swim
I'll just pack my things today
And I'll be, well I'll be on my way
It's a long road up ahead
With twists and turns we haven't met
And for all the time I've wasted
There are memories I don't get
I thought that you were the right one
But clearly I was blindly wrong
And it sucks 'cause I believed it
While you knew it all along
So, so long
I'll be on my way
If our roads shall cross
I might even hesitate
'Cause I was drowning in the water
But I guess I've learnt to swim
I'll just pack my things today
And I'll be, well I'll be on my way
N' you don't need me anymore
You're a big girl now
I'm sure whatever comes your way
You could do it on your own
Guess my work is done around here
Now I'm off to chase my dreams
'Cause those are easier to achieve
When you've seen this many scenes
So, so long
I'll be on my way
If our roads shall cross
I might even hesitate
'Cause I was drowning in the water
But I guess I've learnt to swim
I'll just pack my things today
And I'll be, well I'll be on my way

Sincerely yours.

I would love to hear this sung

I like how it flowed, the simple but meaningful words you have used for it. I liked the message and this particular stanza:

N' you don't need me anymore
You're a big girl now
I'm sure whatever comes your way
You could do it on your own

It shows growth and I hope I get to really hear it sung

I heard the song because my friend here Kate Enma suggested it... It's a good song and while I'm listening to it even though I can't relate it still got stucked in my head (:

I enjoyed the poem. Flowed like a song. I like the letting go feeling of this poem. Sometime best to smile and open the door. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.

This was a very evocative poem!
The chorus has a nice effect ...
Loved the line:
"Now I'm off to chase my dreams"
Gives it a positive touch to a sad breakup.
Thanks for sharing,

A great work as always. I'm sure the life ahead of you will be amazing, though it's hard to let go of the past things sometimes. Amazing song, thank you for sharing. I say this all the time, but you really should record ;)
