Lying On A Star

Lying On A Star

A Poem by Lighthouse Call
"

To a dear friend I'll never forget, who changed my life for the better :)

"
I am the guy
I have coffee every morning
Try my best to be on time
I smile, I laugh, I sing, I cry
N' I am the guy
I spend my weekends getting drunk
N' I don't know why
I'm scared of a simple goodbye

So tell me, am I myself?
Or do I, simply pretend
Any time and any place
I'd run there for you
Just to see you smile
Once again,
Just be next to you

I am the guy
I hold you dearly in my heart
I miss our times
Yeah you are always on my mind
N' I am the guy
For you I'm always somewhere nearby
N' I think I know why
I can be your shoulder when you need to cry

I am the guy
I wonder off every night
Your drawing 's stuck to my shelf
Just to remind me to be a better guy

So tell me, am I myself?
Or do I, simply pretend
Any time and any place
I'd run there for you
Just to see you smile
Once again,
Just be next to you

I am the guy
N' I am the guy

We live in a world. Few real conversations and real friends. Could sit alone and few would notice you. I like how you told the story in the poem. Thank you for a excellent poem.
