The Swallow and The ShallowA Poem by Lighthouse CallAcoustic song - quite depressing but oh well. So, we're back here are we? Right back on this road. Looking for some notice, And feeling so damn cold.
N’ I'm tired of the heart ache That you always seem to cause And you’re running through the breeze while, While I seem stuck on pause.
Shallow. Shallow. Shallow. Girl.
If I'm the swallow you're the shallow (This is your demise) If I'm the swallow you're the shallow (It ain’t no surprise) If I'm the swallow you're the shallow (You can finally, take of your disguise)
The swallows remind me of home I’m a bird trapped in cage I wrote words in a book for you But you read a different page.
You’ve prolonged it for too longed And your words they make me dizzy While the payphone is in my hands Yet your line is always busy
Shallow. Shallow. Shallow. Girl.
If I'm the swallow you're the shallow (This is your demise) If I'm the swallow you're the shallow (It ain’t no surprise) If I'm the swallow you're the shallow (You can finally, take of your disguise)
You're obsessed over control, And you're f*****g around my head. You're a floating anchor, While I’m sitting on seabed.
Was I not worth fighting for? Why are you so reckless with my heart And I chirp high in the skies As from you I pull apart.
