Feathers Flutter

Feathers Flutter

A Poem by Ligeia

Feathers flutter
flow in delicate dance and
find their final rest.

White as midnight snow,
his soft wings hit the floor: a
melody is heard.

The air about him
sounds of an angel,
one who flew too far.

Footsteps echo, dust
is shifted: the fallen sings
his very last song.

As his pure wings fall
he'll purse his perfect lips and
speak sorrows no more.
