Can You Believe?

Can You Believe?

A Poem by LifelessPawn
"

Inspiration is such a conformed, subjective, over-cultivated mind state that we all share independently.

"
can you believe a year has passed
since you wrote those letters last
apologies from me to the author
the chimney holds photographs
re-inventing hollow laughs
chemistry never really had much to offer

can you believe each paragraph
contradicted (hypocrite) your past
shame on me for believing in honor
when he unbuttons your pants
reincarnating the ash
remember we said always and forever

can you believe
that you can breathe
while our love is suffocating to the ground
can you believe
that you can leave
and disappear for years and not be found

can you believe that i have changed
your heart has rotted and decayed
am i behaving in the manner you expected?
I'm okay (I'm afraid) -- lovely
Secrets to the grave
Who's calling him and voiding our agreement?

avoiding me is pointless, point in,
the direction that you live
ignoring me is all i can forgive

It's not how I roll, to let it take its toll
You never grew up, you're only growing old
Pardon my knife wound, in the small of my back
I know that you'll be back soon
To watch my lungs collapse

You never finish anything you start
So why should this be different?
Why should I be different?
I bet your hands are filthy
Like your mothers maiden mouth
Like you hate your favorite smile
I'll smile for you now

I do.
You can't.
