Caverns of the mindA Poem by PebblesSitting on the edge of reasoning I wander through corridors i dont believe to be my own How did I stumble once again into this cavern The damp walls clingingly Holding me unreleased The darkness holds memories The ones I placed carefully Out of sight Out of mind There is music in the distance Some tune that hangs hauntingly Beconing for regression into self Some obsure English poet is reading words That only the wise will understand Digging deeper Finding fault with everyone Even himself There will be no need to pull the weeds Or tidy the grass From the edge of the sea shore For no one comes here Have you seen the wind She floats on the breeze Longing me to join her She saw me cryig Held my hand Then left silently before the dawn She held me in her silence before I tripped back into my own reality Leaving scars behind to mend peacefully within that darkened cavern Breathing in the dampness for one last time Then turning There is no time for this clearing of senceless confusion Somethings are best left unsaid Unresolved Unwanted conclusions muddle understandings Cobwebs can take care of themselves Spiders crawl across my skin But their fangs touch not my flesh © 2011 PebblesReviews
