I held your dream within my poetic mind

I held your dream within my poetic mind

A Poem by Pebbles

I held your dream
within my poetic mind
I saw it standing freely
With nothing between the lovers
Except the breeze of a summers warm night

For just a moment
I saw you there
Holding on to something
Worth more than the beauty
Of the setting sun
And a jealousy waved over me
As though i was spying on something sacred
Something I had never quite touched upon

I felt the caress
As you almost touched your desire
The stars and moon
For once seemed alligned to both your paths
Soul mates holding all that was
As one
Within each others mould

As one they stood
Before a dying sun
Her tears worried me
For why do we cry when love
Strikes hard
And penetrates our core
In the belief that this may be real
Just for once
I watched from the sidelines of your desire
I saw the dream
I saw the thread of understanding
As you looked into the space within that moment

And yet the dream
So desired by every heart is fragile
The dream is held in vunerable hands
And everytime you pull your soul mate closer
She drifts beyond your sight
Your desire for her
I see it fragment and shatter
It slips away

In a moment
A dream is lost upon the sunset
Before the darkness steals the day

I wish I wasnt watching now
From the sidelines of your reality
As your pain is so real
and cuts so deep and
reflects too many truths
Do you really think souls bleed?
Because the redness of the sky
Has darkened now
And I pray for the darkness of the night
So that i can no longer see you or feel your pain

Remembering
Standing back
Closing eyes
I am within myself
And your dream is fading
From my mind

Next time try to kiss a little longer
believe a little harder
For now you must hold on
Because the moment
Should be more than dream come true
Within the sunrise
She saw within those beautiful eyes ..... :)

A lovely piece. I love the idea of being an outsider watching a couple from the sidelines. Your metaphors and comparisons are great. Wonderful work! :)
