Mary's ChairA Poem by PebblesThere's an armchair Dressed in red It used to seat only the best But now the cat resides Where Mary used to dwell The cat misses Mary And her familiar smell Walking through her moments Treasured diaries tell Of lovers lost Never keeping all that she desired To keen to be alone With her cats for company Who would need more He came once A quiet man Spoke well Good job Steady mind Ready smile Mary set his life on fire He told her she was everything he desired He wanted to give her the world Don't tell her she brightens your life No it would be better if you held her throat with a knife And don't tell her she's the most beautiful girl Because she knows thats a lie To true and to well Please don't touch her with the softness of hand Its not something she quite understands She cries in the night when no body see's She never ment to break his heart Now he is down on his knee's Mary dressed her chair in red To match the heart That was so misread A life of pain Had taken its toll The knife she took And the blood did flow Mary Mary what have you done Mary Mary I know you didn't want to hurt anyone When life breathes love at Marys feet Mary remembered the pain And decide's It was time to retreat © 2011 PebblesReviews
