Love Should Only Be For Sleep

Love Should Only Be For Sleep

A Poem by Mar
"

Written in Shakespearian (or English) Sonnet form

"

The only love I’ll ever trust to keep
Is not for men as people think it should,
Because no man is worth a night of sleep.
Replace my love? I do not think I could!

I’d rather have a pillow than rough hands;
My blanket serves more warmth than hairy arms,
And mattresses will never cancel plans,
So I will always give in to sleeps’ charms.

Plus every morning when I greet the day
I always want to stay in bed some more.
But with a man you might want him to stay
Or you might want to get him out the door.

And as I go to bed each night I dream
Of beds, not men, that are fit for a queen.

This is nicely written-nicely worded; however, when I read the rhyming lines together, it takes on a completely different flair. Maybe you can re-write the piece to reflect that...and see what feel you get. You just made something so interchangeable that it's truly fantastic!
