Those Moments

I remember exactly back to that one Fourth of July

Shivering on a blanket and taking warmth from your bright eyes

And every time I see those stars exploding in the sky

I think back to what you said to me that summer night

"I've never seen the fireworks before this time with you."

I looked at him beyond the surface and for once I knew

You'll never know those moments unless you're living for today
Yesterday won't come back and tomorrow may be far away

It takes me back to New York City up at the Top of the Rock

Hyped on four cans of Monster, sixty eight stories up

Feeling like a daredevil, ignoring my friends' "no!"s and calls

Leaning on a panel of glass was all that kept me from that fall

Adrenaline rush peaking, you'd think I'd had no sense at all

But the risk was worth taking with the Empire State rising

And even on my possible verge of death with everything I saw

Not every moment will be the safest one you've ever lived

But enjoy them anyways, I had nothing to lose, nothing to give

Not every moment you recollect is sure to be a good one

Sometimes things come to mind and you wished you'd had forgotten

The times I knew my friends were moving and the times I did, too

Leaving can be the hardest thing when I have to say "Good bye" to you

That person never really leaves you no matter what you do

There are some things time cannot erase completely from the truth

Like the first time you were given back shards from your broken heart

And you cried and told yourself, "I knew he was wrong from the start"

But deep down you knew you could never tell his promises and lies apart

Those moments are a part of who you are as a person

Don't be scared to take what is and never to regret them

Some will be loved, some won't be, but all are to be taken

I cant help, especially lately, thinking back on the memories in my life. The good times, the bad, the things I wish I did, and the things I wish I hadn't done. I haven't been in this world for very long but sometimes you just look back to see how far you've come. Great job Rachel, welcome back!

If your waiting for someone to tell you your right, well you are, however, there are choices you make as well, and every one has a consequence, and some consequences last a life time if your fortunate enough to live through them..............good read

thank you for reviewing, though I'm not waiting
The first paragraph is certainly a glimmer of genius, the tone and lyrical strain of it was beyond good.

I can't believe it.
