Nephilim

Nephilim

Nephilim

Talk how we talk

Walk how we strut

Hide your stained wings

Behind Heavenly things

Extraordinarily otherworldly

Supremely deadly

*whispers* Nephilim

Pass as a halo

With barely concealed horns

Human stature, evil eyes

But you have everything to mourn

You are Nephilim

You’re not what

We think you are

You’re Nephilim

Demons in angel disguises

You're all Nephilim

You are a Nephilim

Nephilim

Pitch black lips

Claiming a heart of gold

One glance at your pretty face

And everyone is sold

Never believing that Hellfire

Is in which you call home

*whispers* Nephilim

Falling for their tricks

Smiling when they’re knife goes in

Slipping your soul through the pores

Of your cold sweat skin

You are Nephilim

You’re not what

We think you are

You’re a Nephilim

Demons in angel disguises

You're all Nephilim

You are a Nephilim

Nephilim

I see the marks on your skin

I see tragedy on your face

Encrypted inside of you

Is poison ink that you can’t erase

Because you'll never fool me

And you'll always be
*whispers* Nephilim

You are Nephilim

You’re not what

We think you are

You’re a Nephilim

Demons in angel disguises

You're all Nephilim

You are a Nephilim

Nephilim

You are Nephilim

You’re not what

We think you are

You’re a Nephilim

Demons in angel disguises

You're all Nephilim

You are a Nephilim

Nephilim

I thought of this song while thinking of a dream I had, note that nephilim are half-angel half-humans, but can sometimes be quite evil.

I must say Rachel, this is truly amazing. It makes me think back to a book series I was reading, The Fallen Novels.

Really is an amazing write and I hope the best for you. Keep up with your' writing, it captivates, something that is rare, my mind.

"Slipping your soul through the pores / Of your cold sweat skin" - definitely my favourite line. I think it conveys the tone of the whole piece very well. How easily what was good can be corrupted. What should be good takes on attributes of its foil. For me I almost get a modern feel to this as well, as if this terminology could be used for those among us today.

Not bad..not bad at all.

thanx!
The children of Seth. You have written about something that very few people research on this site, I would guess!! This is such an awesome write, that I had to check your age again. lol
My favorite verse on the Nephilim in the bible: "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." -Hebrews 13:2

I don't about the evil eyes and demon horns, for they were revered for their power over the daughters of man and their presence when Earth was given unto plague and war. I'm sure it was not intended to be a research tool, this poem, but I like it nonetheless. xoxo -Mark

jeez, thank you :)
*sighs* Oh Nephilim, dear sweet Nephilim. Half-angel, half-human. Love them, and anything else supernatural (I think I mention this too much...) This poem was just...wow. The length seem to be exactly right, and the flow of the poem is perfect. Your take on Nephilim's was different from others that write stories about them.
Cassandra Clare tells a tale of Nephilim's that fight other supernatural creatures. Demons, vampires, etc.
Becca Fitzpatrick tells a story of a girl who's a Nephilim, that falls in love with a fallen angel, the of course, has to stop a war between Nephilim and the fallen.
I could probably go on and on with stories such as this, but they all show the Nephilim's as heroes or heroines that save the world, or battle other different angel species, but in this poem you've created, you take on them was, well, dark and evil and that's what I love about it! It's unique and a totally different intake on them, and it's just awesome!
Fantastic and amazing! Wonderfully written!

You're welcome XD
I have to say, I was extremly impressed by this poem. I have a small obsession with fallen angels myself, and the fact that you knew about Nephilim was enough to impress me as it is. Your take on them was rather interesting as well. I have not seen that many dark takes on them, and I would say that yours was very well done. Fantastic wording and excelent imagery
