HALLOWEEN

HALLOWEEN

A Poem by RachelReaper
"

happy Halloween, guys!

"

How do you imagine to be petrified with fear, is it creeping from afar or stalking you from here

Arching black cats hissing on the picket fence, screeching shrilly like a murder of ravens

Lanterns illuminating the pitch black silhouettes on your walls, watch as they break your mentality's walls

Little ghouls and goblins think torture is play; don't let them entangle you or forever you shall stay

Own your shadow walking with you taller than before, tonight it will attack you the second you won't be sure

Witches in disguise will try everything to catch you, goose bumps shiver up your arm when you can't withstand their poison brew.

Echoes through the night growing louder and louder calling your name, you try your best to claw out of the trench to run away

Evil spirits laugh at your new found fear, don't show it for they can draw very near.

Never let your guard falter or come tumbling down on this one night, for this is the time when all of the creatures like to come out of where they hide

dont worry about punctuation, I'm not putting it in. Oh, also note that a group of ravens is infact called a murder. Happy Halloween, guys. Blood and Kisses to you all!

Ingenious.
Cannot be faulted, I love the ending and the fear of the unknown!!
Very creative with a unique style I don't always see.
Look forward to reading more!

Aahahaa a murder of ravens. Classic. Really feeling the halloween spirit! Great poem to write for October! Made a couple goosebumps rise in my arms from your explicit (scary) visuals...

Wow, this is a great poem for Halloween indeed! I loved reading it and getting a vivid picture of how you imagine how Halloween is in your mind. I'm quite ready for Halloween too! I love giving out candy and watching the little children's faces light up. I really like seeing their unique costumes! Sometimes I even dress up too. Like one year I dressed up as Freddy Krueger. It was fun until one kid wouldn't come up to my front porch without me taking off the mask. Haha, nice write to help all trick-or-treaters get into the spirit of Halloween!! :)

I like the format that you use, usually most people don't see cool, but yours does :)

This creepy thriller of an acrostic chilled me to my bones... love how you went into every detail whether it was the shadow or witches, warning the reader of this special yet fear infested, dark night!!! Well penned indeed especially for Halloween :)

No problem, thanks for reviewing mine ;)
This is a pretty neat acrostic, though I myself prefer ones where the word to be known is hidden within. All in all I think you did a very nice job of describing the night and some of the creatures and phenomenon associated with it.

Well done.
