Do You Hear Me Now

Do You Hear Me Now

A Poem by Ciara

Do You Hear Me Now

When I was a little girl

I was severely hurt.

There were no bruises, broken bones, or blood,

but the pain was there.

The scornful words followed me

picking at my will

Beating on the last hand

that held me dangling off the cliff.

One day I fell.

I couldn't hold on anymore

At the bottom I sat

broken and crushed.

My invisible tears

and my silent cries

never grasped anyone's attention

The pain! The pain! The pain!

Silence your ego

take  look in front of you

hear the agony around

Do you hear me?

Do you hear me now?

This is very nicely done. Very honest from the heart. I'm sorry you had to endure that. You express yourself well.

beautiful! I love your description of the way that you were bullied/abused. most people think that its all punches or kicks but in reality words hurt just as much as punches. very good job :)

Very heartbreaking. There are many forms of trauma and they are not always visible. Great poem.
