I compose music a lot and sometimes I forget that originality is what makes some of the best pieces.
This is My Melody
I let the notes glide from my head to the keys And the story begins to pan out The melody flows with very much ease But I know something is missing
The tempo picks up with my frustration I think about Mozart and Chopin Why can't my piece match up to their creation? Maybe I'm not a musician
Darker tones entwine with the melody of grace Why does this sound wrong? Then I remember originality should be my base And from there the story goes on
My melody was missing a piece of me How could I forget? Now I set my imagination free This is my melody
This is amazing and so true. Every piece of music is as original as its composer. I like that it shows the struggle a musician has to go through to make there music sound good and not to copy someone else no matter how they idolize others.
Very well done!
This is cute, a "meta-writing" piece (writing about writing). I think you were trying to stick to a rhyme scheme, but there are some moments where it falls apart. I like the idea of writing poetry about music, but I think with some reworking this could be better.
This is inspiring. To gather true inspiration from ourselves, our deeper selves requires our true conscientiousness which is indeed free. Great penning!
