A sequel to Lilithium Hydra's "Too much"

No, I won’t act less

I won’t be less of me

You’re leaving because I am too much?

Yes I am too much

Too crazy

Too outspoken

Too smart

Too loving

Too understanding

Too caring

Too wanting

Too outgoing

And too friendly

And the world never did understand me

But I thought you would, I thought you were a part of me

I spent many nights asking myself if I was too defiant

Too dreadful

Too detached

Too daunting

Too daring

If maybe I was too much.

But I know love is not like this

I know love is understanding

I know it’s not ignorant

So if you want to leave, leave

I won’t be less of me, to make you more of a man.

Strange how the expectations of others makes us feel so inadequate. If someone wants to change you in their image they don't love you. They are clay modelers who wish to have an icon of their reflection. A nice flowing free verse with questions and contemplation and defiance. Nice writing and some alliteration thrown in!

I think you'll also how the character goes from questioning their adequacy to knowing that they don't have to change and then realizing that the person was nearly not good enough for them, in the Too much series.
