What can never be

What can never be

A Poem by Liderien

It is only in this, my beloved. My breath conjures silent with yours.

When you speak, my soul fills.

Every moment I breathe, I know it is you who I long to know.

It does not matter the circumstance to each of our plains.

Your responsibility I could never prove to be of more value.

Should such a time arise, to give a moments breath

You would know no greater love than mine.

Whether somehow the stars shine in favor of our souls' embrace or no,

Know that my heart, my soul, my love will be yours till I breathe no more.

It is only the cruelty of fate that separates.

To know my lips could never quench your fire,

to know my touch will not reach your desire, haunts me.

It is not lust, nor a whim, nor a notion, nor merely a plan,

but a beat so deep within, no outward force can stop it.

To know you exist and that I cannot have you, takes life from me...

Makes me marvel at the affliction of fortune. I know in my life's dying breath,

I am to be alone and my love for you merely spoken in the wind and no more.

This was beautiful and oh so touching. The longing, the need, the desire flowed from your words in a fluent and soft manner. Very nice. This one hurt my heart.

yes, thank You...
Like a bittersweet tragedy, the knowledge of seperation is worse than not knowing at all. Beautiful, heartfelt write.
