Sympathy

Sympathy

A Poem by Liderien

Loved I, but not thee more?
Of thine beauty thou hast beseeched of me
Yet in the still of thine fornication
Lay the heart of honor to thine own pledges
to position beside the still pool of Mine blood.
Only to pass by, a stranger
To the affliction that onced
Plagued thine own depth
Let us plainly speak as twine of the same mind.
Tis thine pain thou seekest a refuge?
And not of another?
That by giving thou canst also Receive
what thine humanity sorely requires...
For truth and beauty beyond the words

The flow, tone, rhythm, and sound work well. The but is the difficuty of translating it to now. The world is still a stage ...the players still act... as they always have.
