The side guy diary

The side guy diary

A Poem by Lehlohonolo Lichaba

From a first glance like love at first sight my affection was made up.
Insurance back up for good times , not that i wanted to use you but you fit the profile. You know ,face like rainbow, skin like caramel, body on point , chest like your breast are pulling you, perfect catch So it began

The position was vacant , so I took the job
Went in head first no place for even a single thought
Although deep down I knew this was just a lease
The kind of bond that would fade with such ease
But still its easy to turn a blind eye
Pretend to build truth in a pile of lies

The contract is simple and clear I'm just a visitor in your heart
We can get lost tumble in joy and pleasure like a flood
This attraction is free and deadly bun gee no strings attached I'll mix business with pleasure sell you attention and time but leave jealousy untouched
Give you all access to my life but love forbidden
We strangers to drama and complications one kiss and all is forgotten

Its all fun and games until one slips and feelings are born
And skeletons in the closet comes to life. Senses as sharp as a thorn
Unpredictable this wasn't part of the deal not included in my income
You knew I'm gonna leave I'd hate to over stay my welcome

Pain and hurt was never in our vocab
It was all pleasure happiness uncapped
Till your heart became pregnant with feelings
Gave birth to a virus that would leave us grieving

From a first glance like love at first sight my affection was fake
Just a thought in my head to keep my mind sane when I'm awake.
