Dear mama

Dear mama

A Poem by Lehlohonolo Lichaba

Dear mama.

I was blessed with a gift of life from the day I was born which is you mama
Like a moonlight provider of sight always by me even in dark times mama.
Like a stone you were never shuttered by my indicencies you are the beast that keeps foes away mama.

Through sweet times nd sour times , through storms and sunshine you have always been that pillar that never left my side.
And even though you now gone, you are always with me I just look up because you the star that always shines bright.

You are the freshness in my clothes,
With your hands and gentle touch I smell like a rose.
You the comfort of my bed,
Provider of space to lay my head.
You are the taste in my food,
Fill my stomach mama you did all you could.
And you the core of my personality,
Its no mystery that loving me is your speciality.

I seem to vividly but with clarity remember salty taste of your tear when my tongue and mouth composed my first word when I cryd out mama. It took your breath away and you dropped a tear mama.

From the day I drew my first breath you were there ,
With almost certainty I knew I needed you to live and breath.
I knew o would never know cold days because I had your love to wear.

I hope I made you proud for all your good deeds
As you never drifted from me ,always around like sea weed

No tramped or crown is needed to show that in my castle you the queen,
And no poems nor songs can truly explain your worth and how I feel.

Thank you for perfecting your duty and role as a guardian of my lime like life

You are my beloved mother,my lifelong best friend.
