No body understandsA Poem by Lehlohonolo LichabaNobody understands. I hide my marks behind a smile, But deep down I’m empty, It’s a deep dark hole I can’t fill
Sometimes I wish I could call out, Call out the ground to open and swallow me, Or even reach down my throat, Reach down my throat and rip my heart out
Nobody understands. We both smile of course, Only wish my smile was as legit as yours, Instead it’s a mask I put on to cover the sadness
Sometimes I wish I could call out, Call out a lightning to strike me down Because now I’m just a vessel Happiness is no more.
Nobody understands. I’m slowly fading away. Bit by bit drifting away. But nobody understands. © 2012 Lehlohonolo LichabaFeatured Review
