Do'sA Chapter by Kamari's
Do get your children seen if you think there is a possibility.
Do be supportive this is the most scary thing ever to be told you are now going to have to be medicated to function. Do understand a child bipolar is different than an adult. We are still learning our emotions a disorder that amplifies happy sad is tough on a kid. I have to say being a hormonal teen girl and bipolar has not been a picnic. Do make sure you kid takes its meds yes bipolar people don't have a good rep with meds but watching your child they will get into the habit of it. Do be stern, you need to be the team player and coach dealing with a teen bipolar have them talk to another bipolar whos made it through it all before. This will give them hope for a normal life. Do know even if your kid is bipolar that's your kid and most kids are rock stars in their own way. Teen are the hard part. You are almost moving out , you have a job, and you have to graduate. Imagine that stress on a kid on medication anxiety is up and going a like road runner on cocaine. You feel the fear of failing stronger and that is what it's like you are just going. I have had panic attacks amongst other issues yet I am here. I honestly sometimes even hate hearing people breath. This is not a joke, that's actually a situation I deal with. As a mom you get on to your kids about let's say their room to me you sound like Charlie Brown's parents. Other times I want to cry cause you're using a harsh tone. Dealing with a bipolar teen you have to go to war with the Bunny and the Lioness. © 2015 Kamari's |
